I would like to do a quick check of the ROM version of the HTC Touch Diamond before I purchase it at the store. How do I go about it?

Answer:

There are two ways to verify the Touch Diamond's ROM version. When the phone is booting up from a completely "off" state, keep your eyes on the bottom right corner. A few lines of numbers will be displayed in red momentarily, and the one that says 1.xx.xxx.xxx is the ROM version. You should only be interested in the first 3 digits, so if it says 1.37.xxx.xxx, you know you have the 1.37 ROM.

The simpler method is to go to the settings page when the phone is turned on. Tap on the System tab and go to Device Information. The ROM version is also displayed there.
