New user interfaces must be hard to think up. The iPod Click Wheel spawned a host of mechanized knock-offs, some viable alternatives like Creative's touch scroll and iriver's D-Click and interesting solutions like the
Cowon iAudio F2's phone-like control pad. Newman must have thought it's a great idea since it grafted a version onto its D20c.
Though it already has a 80GB hard drive, the D20c accepts memory expansion cards such as SD, MMC, Memory Stick Pro, CompactFlash and xD-Picture Card, so photo bugs can transfer their images (JPEG, GIF, BMP) for storage. It also has a 2.4-inch screen with 480 x 220-pixel resolution. Video and audio format support runs XviD, MP3 and WMA. 1,999 yuan (S$394) for the 80GB version.
